The Certified Accounting Technician qualification is examined by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). It is a qualification structured to enable students to acquire all necessary technical skills and knowledge to support their future role in accountancy and business.
You must be at the age of 16 or above to register, but there are no formal academic qualifications necessary.Exemptions are available for holders of recognized qualifications on a paper by paper basis.
With the CAT and one year’s relevant experience, you can apply for the CAT status, which entitles you to use the letters CAT after your name. You may also progress to do the ACCA- Part 2 papers. The CAT is of an equivalent standard to the first year university degree.
